3. Google.org – http://www.google.org
While most major companies these days all want us to know about how “carbon conscious”, “green friendly”, “emissions aware” they are, and a plethora of other buzz words, Google has taken the no nonsense approach to helping out with the climate. They offer grants and funds to companies or organizations which help on things like public health, climate change, and more. They have more information and a list of such grants at Google.org
4. Docs & Spreadsheets – http://docs.google.com
Keep spreadsheets and documents online! Just like MicroSoft Excel, but for free and online.
5. iGoogle – http://www.google.com/ig
This is really cool, you can set Google.com up so that it redirects to Google.com/ig where you can design a custom homepage! You can add different sections with all sorts of stuff! Your latest 17 emails, the weather in your area, daily motivational quotes or daily jokes, a notepad, whatever you want! Saves alot of time and is very useful.
6. Google Mars – http://mars.google.com
“View some of the most detailed maps of Mars created by NASA scientists.” – Just like Google Earth, but on Mars! How cool is that? OK, not very. Pretty geeky in fact. But still, it’s fun for 10 minutes.
7. Google Voice Local Search – http://labs.google.com/goog411
Amongst the things in production at Google Labs is Google Voice Local Search where you can search for local businesses using your voice! From any phone! For free!! Dial 1-800-GOOG-411.
8. Google Sets – http://labs.google.com/sets
Way down at the bottom of the list is Google Sets. It automatically creates sets of items from a very small amount of examples. For example, type in orange, banana and grapefruit and it’ll give you a BIG list of fruits! It’s not perfect, but it’s still a HUGE time saver and very useful at times.
9. Google Store – http://www.google-store.com
From a T-Shirt with “I’m feeling lucky” on the back of it, to something called “Google Goo”, Google has all sorts of weird Google brand stuff available to buy and they deliver all over the world. They have beach towels, mouse mats, USB memory sticks, Blogger stuff, even lava lamps.
