Link directory small problem

Hi all. Firstly thanks for the plugin. Hoping I can get this solved and use it.

If I set the homepage to be the directory when I click on a category to view the links instead of it showing the links
it misses out the page ID and shows me latest blog posts instead like below.
http://www.informativedirectory.co.uk/?cat=Blogs+%26+Blogging

When directory is not homepage works fine of course.

http://www.informativedirectory.co.uk/?page_id=7&cat=Blogs+%26+Blogging

Any help with how to fix this would be most fantastic.

Eeek if I try to add links without captcha enabled I get
"The URL you supplied doesn't seem to be valid" no matter what i do and if I enable captcha it tells me that captcha is incorrect and if I enable the other captcha I get a number of errors on the page like so

Warning: is_dir() [function.is-dir]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/tmp/captchasnet-random-strings) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/informativedirec/:/usr/local/apache/htdocs/) in /home/informativedirec/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-link-directory/captcha.php on line 51

This looked like it was going to be a simple plugin to use but I am having lots of problems.
