5 Dating Tips For Single Dads With Young Kids

Dating: Better The Second Time Around!

If you search the internet there are THOUSANDS of articles on this topic out there, and most of them give really stupid, useless advice.

Why are they so bad? Well, probably because they were written by guys who aren’t successful with dating and never had been. The author is probably some dork who got divorced and now that he is dating again he thinks that makes him some kind of dating for single dads expert – LOL no.

So That brings us to my first tip, be CAREFUL where you get advice from, because most dating “experts” and gurus are complete morons and/or sketchy PUA creeps.

TIP 1) Be Careful Where You Are Getting Your Dating Advice!

Of course this article will give you some good pointers, and a bit of a foundational understanding… But these tips are only regarding best practices for dating as a single dad. If you have been out of “the game” for a while and are serious about doing better this time around, then I would strongly suggest taking your education a bit farther than simply reading a few random articles on the Internet!

I’ve read a great number of books on dating, attraction and relationships since my divorce, and my top recommended resource is a program called “Pandora’s Box” by a fella named Vin DiCarlo. I recently wrote up a review of the Pandora’s Box course here.

There are a couple of things I really like about this course. For one thing, it offers a truly “scientific” understanding of female psychology, that I think every guy can benefit from. Second, the course shows you how to successfully date quality women, not just score quick “hook ups” like a lot of so-called dating guides do. One note though – the website for this product is very racy, so be sure your kid(s) aren’t around when you check it out.

TIP 2) Don’t Think You Need To Wait Too Long To Get Back In The Dating Pool

A lot of guys take their time getting back into the game after a divorce or a break-up with their baby’s momma. And if you read any of the more “mainstream” advice you will year crazy things about how you should wait YEARS, so you can emotionally “heal”, and other such nonsense.

Ridiculous. You are a man, and as such it is natural that you would desire the companionship of a lovely lady-friend. Don’t deny your natural desires!

I think the real problem occurs when guys try to get back in the game, but they don’t know what they are doing, so they either suffer painful rejections, or they end up hooking up with crazy, messed up women. Having bad experiences like that right after a divorce of break-up can be really damaging.

The trick then, is to start having some positive dating experiences as soon as possible. Only date cool, level headed, quality women, and know what you are doing so you don’t get dumped hard again, and you’ll be fine…. how do you do this? See tip #1.

TIP 3) Don’t Bring Hoes Around Your Kids

Listen, I get it. Sometimes you may get lonely and want to spend time with “easy” women… You know what I am talking about. The kind of chicks you can find down at your local watering hole around closing time, who are looking for any half way decent man to hop in the sack with. No judgement.

That said, it is never a good idea to bring these kinds of women around your offspring. You want to set a good example for your kids in terms of what a healthy adult relationship is supposed to look like. Sure, things didn’t work out with your kid’s mom, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still set a good example by only bringing home women who you are really serious about.

My rule of thumb is to wait until you have already been seeing a woman for a couple of months and have agreed to be in a monogamous relationship with her, before you introduce her to the kids. That way you can feel confident that she is woman of high moral character.

TIP 4) Consider Dating A Single Mom

Dating a single mom can have a lot of advantages over dating a childless woman. Basically, a woman who has her own kids is going to know the deal.

She’s going to know that you can’t stay out all night drinking because you need to take your kids to a birthday party in the morning, and she’ll be understanding if your car is full of Teddy Grahams and half eaten apple slices.

Also, a single mom will understand that you need to put your kids first and not start acting like a baby when you can’t always make time for her if your kids need you. You’d think that childless women would “get” this, but often they just don’t, even if they are compassionate, intelligent women.

TIP 5) Raise Your Standards Higher (For Relationships)

When it comes to selecting a new serious girlfriend or even a new wife, it is very important to maintain the highest of standards. After all, this new woman is not only going to be your partner, but she is also going to be playing a role in the lives of your children.

Don’t get blinded by the first hot chick with a big butt and a smile. Sure she may be fun to spend a little time with, but when it comes to a relationship you really need to look at her character, her integrity, her behavior etc…

Also – look back at why your past relationships have failed. Often time the cause will lie in picking the wrong woman and settling for somebody who just wasn’t right for you. The thing is, when you have kids the decisions you make effect them too, so it is important for you to be very selective!

One Of My Favorite Animals – The African Elephant

AFRICAN ELEPHANTS IN THE WILD…

Hey guys, today I wanted to change things up a bit and talk about something that isn’t really health related, and share some info on one of my very favorite animals – the African Elephant!

Whether you already consider yourself an elephant expert or you simply wish to expand your knowledge on humongous, super cool African animals, hopefully you will get something of value out of this post. Obviously there is a TON more information about these amazing creatures that I wasn’t able to get to in a blog post, but I’ve attempted to touch on some of the most important facts you may want to know.

Okay, let’s get into today’s discussion of these gorgeous, majestic, one-of-a-kind elephants…

A Brief Background

While at present the African elephant is considered to be a”vulnerable” species, it can still be seen freely roaming across Africa’s rough terrain today. However, it remains endangered due to the prevalence of poaching in the area where it roams. Another reason why the population of the African elephant is shrinking is because its natural habitat is slowly being encroached upon and as a result, reduced.

Key Facts:
While “African elephant” is its common name, its scientific name is actually Loxodonta africana spp. At present, the estimated population of African elephants ranges from 470,000 to 690,000.

Protection/Security Measures
The status of different elephant populations in Africa varies. Some populations are now considered “secure”, while others continue to remain endangered. Most African elephants are located in Southern Africa. Here, their population continues to grow and expand.

Currently, a certain number of elephant populations have been confined to areas that have a high level of protection. Nevertheless, African elephants continue to be threatened as their meat and ivory are continually hunted by illegal poachers. Conflicts between humans and African elephants are also quite common. Finally, as touched on earlier, the change and loss of their natural habitat is also one cause of their present endangerment.

Even with the presence of range states, the fact of the matter is that most of these aren’t adequately equipped. Thus, they often fall short when it comes to managing and protecting the herds in their jurisdiction. It is extremely possible that without a heightened level of conservation efforts, African elephants will become extinct in certain African areas in half a century.

Physical Description
There is no larger walking animal in the world than the African elephant. It uses its trunk for communicating with other elephants and it can be likened to a human hand in that its other function is to handle objects around it such as food. While its counterpart the Asian elephant has one extension at the end of its trunk, the African elephant has two extensions.

With regard to tusks, both male and female African elephants have them. They never stop growing throughout an elephant’s lifetime. Tusks serve multiple purposes in an elephant’s daily routine (e.g. to mark, dig, feed, etc.).

One unique characteristic of African elephants is their huge ears. They are impossible not to notice and believe it or not, they actually serve a specific purpose. Whenever the African elephant’s temperature gets too high, excess heat is able to escape through its ears.

The African Elephant has two subspecies. These include the Savanna/bush elephant (Loxodonta africana africana) and the forest elephant (Loxodonta africana cyclotis). Size-wise, Savanna elephants are superior to forest elephants. On the other hand, the tusks of forest elephants are unique in that their tusks are curved inwards. They are also straighter as compared to the tusks of Savanna elephants. Other differences between Savanna and forest elephants include the skeleton, as well as skull shape and size.

African elephants are brownish gray in color and can grow up to 6 to 7.5m long. They also have a shoulder height of 3.3m. On the other hand, they can weigh up to 6 lbs.

Life Cycle & Mating
African elephants can live up to 70 years. A female is usually fertile from the ages of 25 to 45 years old. On the other hand, male African elephants need to be at least 20 years old in order to mate successfully. And here’s a crazy fact for you… African elephants have “prehensile penises“… That means they can use their penises to swat flies, for support, and even I suppose to pick up food – pretty amazing!

Diet
African elephants subsist on leaves, branches, grass, bark and fruit. In other words, they are herbivorous creatures. which I think you will agree is absolutely adorable!

Start Potty Training Review: Carol Cline’s 3 Day Potty Training Method – Good?

child potty training
Start Potty Training! (you’ll be glad you did…)

Call me old fashioned… But as a guy, I never thought I’d be changing a lot of diapers, or worrying about when and how to potty train my kids. However, more and more single dads are raising kids on their own and looking for information on this kind of thing – which brings us to the topic of today’s post, Carol Cline’s “Start Potty Training” book, otherwise known as “3 Day Potty Training”…

This is a review, Click Here for the Official Start Potty Training website…

If you’re reading this, I’ll go ahead and assume that you’re really looking forward to the day when you won’t have to change any more diapers.

As a parent of a recently potty trained toddler myself, I can sympathize. In fact, I had been looking forward to the day when I would no longer have to deal with diapers since, well, since I first started changing diapers!

What really got me interested in Carol’s program was how quickly she promises to be able to potty train your little one… just three days!

I was also impressed with the reported success rate of Carol’s program… 97%. With stats like that, I just couldn’t ignore Carol’s guide, so I decided to put my reviewer hat on and dig into the details of Carol’s program.

Carol’s “3 Day Potty Training” Method – Program Details…

“Ok,” you may be thinking, “how the heck does it work? How the heck is this even POSSIBLE?”

I get it, I was so ready to have my child move on from diapers when she hit twenty-four months, I was kinda freaking out, going crazy looking for the best solution. The good news is – your seemingly endless poopy diaper nightmare is soon to come to an end.

Alright already, let’s see how the guide works…

The main guide comes in a downloadable e-book format and includes training video and audio modules. It’s designed to be as simple and straightforward as possible, which I like. You’re going to be stressed out enough by the whole experience anyway, so it’s nice that the program is specifically designed to make it easy as possible by walking you through each step of the process.

The course is broken down into six steps:

The first step is all about preparation. Carol describes this step as “readying the child.” Basically, it’s designed so that even if your little one shows no interest in being potty trained, there are A LOT of tips, strategies and information the guide offers on how to get your child interested and motivated to start using the potty.

The second step is about building confidence. The program takes you through this step by providing everything you’ll need to help your little one make the transition. I think this is a key step actually. Confidence is so important because your child will absolutely pick up on it if you’re unsure of what you’re doing, which could result in huge setbacks. Not Good!

Carol describes the third step as the most important one. This step is all about the first day of training. Basically, here’s where the program provides you with the road-map that sets the tone for the next two days.

The fourth step is all about nighttime training. I personally think this is the most crucial aspect of the program. You can’t be there to coach your kids 24/7—the importance here is pretty obvious… you’ve got to sleep sometime!

The fifth step focuses on the final two days and incorporates innovative motivational tactics. This is all about making your child associate positive thoughts with the potty. I must say this is another key aspect to the program—positive reinforcement!

The sixth step teaches you how to avoid regression. Carol has perfected a few, simple methods that stop chance of regression for even most stubborn child.

The program also comes with bonus material that I think compliment the main guide quite nicely. The first bonus includes reward charts and certificates that can be customized and tailored to your child’s potty training achievements.

Like I said, positive reinforcement is really a great motivator, so I think this bonus is just awesome.

The second bonus offers personal one-on-one coaching directly from Carol. I like that Carol adds this personal touch to her guide. And let’s face it, each situation is unique, so it’s nice to see that Carol will personally answer each of your questions as they come up.

The third bonus is a guide on how to raise great kids. I haven’t been thinking this far ahead yet, but maybe I should be. The guide offers information and advice on how to help your kids steer clear of danger and avoid negative influences. It’s never too early to start planning!

Pros And Cons To Carol’s Start Potty Training Program…

Pros:

I would say the upsides of this guide are pretty obvious. It saves you A LOT of time and effort by walking you through how to potty train your child in just three days and has a 97% success rate. You can’t get much better than that.

Cons:

I would say that you could probably research how to do it yourself, and if you put the time in, you’d eventually be able to draw up a workable plan on your own. As anyone with kids knows, however, time is a VERY limited resource. So, in my opinion, it’s better to go with a guide that’s already compiled and perfected the training for you. After all, it’s been reported to have a 97% success rate, so it’s a no-brainer in my opinion.

My Recommendation…

In the end, I think this should be any parent’s go-to guide for potty training. Its track record speaks for itself and I would recommend it to anyone looking to effectively and quickly potty train their little ones. If you’re still on the fence about it, I would recommend going to the site where you can see user reviews and decide for yourself if it’s right for you.
